Soul jazz and funky jazz are related but not the same. Soul jazz typically incorporates elements of rhythm and blues, gospel, and blues, with a focus on groove and soulful melodies. While both genres share some similarities, they have distinct characteristics that set them apart from each other. **

To play e-drums with jazz brushes, you can use a technique called "brush triggering" where you attach a trigger to the brush and connect it to the e-drum module. This allows the e-drum to detect the brush strokes and produce the corresponding sound. You can also adjust the sensitivity and dynamics of the trigger to achieve a more natural and expressive brush sound. Additionally, you can use electronic drum pads with a textured surface to simulate the feel of playing with brushes, enhancing the overall playing experience. **

Ultimately, the use of dissonance in jazz music depends on the style and intention of the composer or performer. **
